I am trying to open the "Mail Microsoft Outlook " icon in control panel. The icon looks as it should with the mail envelop but it just gives a brief status circle and then goes away without doing anything. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions.

I have tried different logins but the same issue. I have used the MS uninstall tool for Office. I had this same problem yesterday. I thought it was due to one of the "Patch Tuesday" updates. I tried un-installing them one by one, but the mail32 control panel app was still broken. Then only way I was able to fix it was to restore then machine from a earlier backup image.

I then tested all the Patch Tuesday updates, and it still worked. I'm left with the conclusion that the latest build of Office "Click To Run" edition breaks it. I don't know of a way to roll back the version on CTR Office other than a machine image restore.

Hello, as I mentioned in the case I tried different logins so to rule out a profile issue. I still nevertheless renamed the Profiles key in the registry.

This only allows me to recreate the profile. The issue of trying to access the "Mail" icon in control panel still remains. I am seeing this issue on every single p. I see a lot of those across multiple customers. Repairing office doesn't fix it. Neither does reinstalling. When you click the icon for the mail applet, a rundll I've been looking for a solution for days now. This issue was caused by the June update KB , the affected Outlook build number is: This issue only affects Click-to-Run installations of Outlook and does not affect msi-based installations.

My mail applet icon in control panel is completely missing, if I run it manually via command line nothing happens. When I start outlook it is stuck loading, if I try to start it with outlook. Online repair seemed to uninstall it, reinstalled it and still nothing.

I'm guessing I'll have to do a clean uninstall and reinstall it from scratch and probably have to resetup all my office settings Might I suggest pulling this botched update before more people suffer my fate? I know I'll be blocking this update for my organization, if I have to go through this for myself I don't want a hundred people calling me with outlook issues.
